FINALLY!

Spring Break '09

Going to Houston to see the family, though their spring break was a week earlier than mine. Things will be soooo much fun :)

Now that our concert contest is over, we begin the spring concert music and "solo and ensemble" This year will be my first year doing both a solo and an ensemble. The director asked me to be in a brass ensemble. It should be fun :)
In other news, in my pre-calculus class, we are learning trigonometry, and it's absolutely horrible. In AP Chemistry, I am passing again, and AP World History! The research paper in my AP English class is progressing, though it still seems about pointless. It's very hard to find information when you're a Christian and you like Harry Potter. The only kinds of sites I can find are either about how Christians think he's Satan, or people who believe in witchcraft and think he's the hero of their world. SOOO, we'll see how this all unfolds.

Flying Kites

This past weekend was a BLAST!

Friday's Events: Went to school as usual. The band director got us all out of class around 2. We packed and loaded the trailer and buses to head for the concert contest. We arrived around 6. We changed, grabbed our instruments and headed to the warm-up area. Everything sounded fine so the contest began. Overall, it was our best performance, but we still ended up getting a 2. We've been to this contest every year I've been in the band and we've always gotten a 1. This year was way harder judged than before. But we were one of the only bands to even make a two. We then headed to sight reading, and we made a 1! :) We head home, and arrive around 11:30, and went to Exxon for some pizza, I stayed with a few friends and went to bed around one.

Saturday's Events: After about four hours of sleep, we all woke up for a D.I. competition! Being very very tired, we all thought we wouldn't do so well. But we won first in our division. It was a glorious day :)

Numero Uno

For starters, my name is Ryan. I am a girl, it isn't a family name, my parents just decided on that name, and honestly, I couldn't imagine ever having a girl name. So that's that. Born and raised in Arkansas and I yes, I do say words such as "ya'll" I'm not all that bad though. I have a wonderful boyfriend named Matthew :) and his name will come up quite often. As for school, I'm a member of a marching and concert band. It's pretty much what I've done for my entire high school life. We've recently been in concert mode and these past few days have been extremely busy. Preparations for our main concert contest began a few months back but now that the date draws nearer, our director has been cracking down on every section of the music. Overall it is for the better, but it's quite stressful at the moment. Recently, Matthew and I joined First Baptist Church in my small town, and I'm proud to say that we're quite satisfied with our decision in going to church more often. Throughout my life I've been raised in the Christian ways, and I do believe in the Lord and my savior Jesus Christ, but just like every one I know, I've had my fair bit of struggles in that area of my life. I'm a teenager, so this is quite expected. That's all for now :)
